The tree survived the sky. Now it rides a wrist.

Struck, survived, strung

In Chinese folk belief, a tree that stands through a lightning strike has absorbed the sky’s fiercest force — thunderstruck jujube wood (雷击枣木) is carried as a talisman of weathered luck.

The beads are hand-cut and hand-polished from the struck trunk, each keeping its own burn figure and grain. No dye, no lacquer — the dark lines are the lightning’s handwriting.

The burn figures running through these beads were written by a single afternoon storm. Wood from the unstruck part of the same trunk looks nothing like it.

“Wear the weather.”
